Link'd ("we," "our," or "us") operates the linkd.club website and platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
Link'd is a calendar coordination platform that helps people find when they're free with anyone — friends, family, teammates, classmates, and colleagues. We also offer an institutional product for universities, where we are committed to protecting the privacy of students, faculty, and staff.
Account Information
When you sign up for Link'd, we collect information provided by your authentication provider, including your name, email address, and profile picture. We support sign-in through Google and Microsoft accounts.
Calendar Data
With your explicit permission, we access your calendar events — including event titles, times, and free/busy status — from Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and/or Apple Calendar to provide scheduling functionality. We use this data to:
• Compute your availability across all your connected calendars.
• Read event titles to make context-aware suggestions. For example, if you already have "Dinner with Mike" scheduled at 5pm, Linkd will avoid suggesting another dinner that evening, and will distinguish between flexible holds (such as a generic "lunch" block) and firm commitments (such as a doctor's appointment).
• Display event titles back to you so you can confirm which time slots are truly free before sending or accepting an invite.
When you confirm or accept a meeting through Link'd, we create a calendar event on your primary calendar. If you cancel a meeting, we remove only the event Link'd created. We do not modify, edit, or delete any events that were not created by Link'd.
Usage Data
We may collect information about how you interact with our platform, such as pages visited and features used, to improve our service.
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide, operate, and maintain the Link'd platform
• Display your availability for scheduling purposes
• Facilitate meeting booking between users
• Send transactional emails related to your bookings and account
• Improve and develop new features for our platform
• Communicate with you about service updates
Link'd requests the following permissions when you connect your calendar:
Google Calendar
• View events on all your calendars (calendar.readonly) — used to compute your availability across connected calendars and to read event titles, which lets Linkd make context-aware suggestions (for example, avoiding a second dinner on a night you already have one) and lets you verify suggested times before sending an invite. The free/busy scope alone is insufficient because it returns opaque blocks without context.
• View and edit events on all your calendars (calendar.events) — used to create the confirmed meeting on your primary calendar when you accept or schedule an invite, and to remove that event if you cancel. Link'd only modifies events it created on your behalf.
• View your email address — for account identification.
• View your basic profile information (name and profile picture) — for display within the app.
Microsoft Outlook
• Read your calendar (to determine availability)
• View your basic profile (name and email)
We only access calendar data when actively needed for scheduling. Link'd's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell, share, or use your calendar data for advertising, for training generalized AI/ML models, or for any purpose unrelated to the Link'd scheduling service.
Your data is stored securely using MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are stored securely and are only used to access your calendar data on your behalf. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:
• With other Link'd users as part of the scheduling process (e.g., showing your available time slots)
• With service providers who assist in operating our platform (hosting, email delivery)
• If required by law or to protect our legal rights
You can:
• Disconnect your calendar at any time through your account settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Revoke Link'd's access to your Google or Microsoft account through your provider's security settings
When you disconnect your calendar or delete your account, we remove your stored calendar tokens and associated data.
As a platform serving higher education institutions, we are committed to compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We treat student scheduling data as educational records and maintain appropriate safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
